In Park View Montessori’s Preschool Program, you will find:

  • a clean, well organized, safe environment
  • a group size of 20 children with 2 adults
  • an environment scaled down to the child’s size
  • tables, chairs, and rug area arranged for social interplay
  • four distinct areas to the environment:
    • Practical Living – including water activities, art, snack time, and small muscle activities
    • Sensorial – Montessori equipment that develops the senses
    • Math – ranging from counting through the decimal system
    • Language – reading and writing exercises including science and geography
  • materials that aid in cognitive development rather than toys that entertain
  • a mixed age group of 3-6 year olds
  • children given the freedom to move and make choices
  • children taking work from ordered shelves and returning it to its proper place
  • adults showing the child how to use unfamiliar equipment
  • adults moving away from the child after a presentation to create independence in the child
  • confident and happy children that are treated with respect

1:00 – 3:00pm Naptime
3:00 – 4:00pm Bathroom, Snack, Gym / Outside
4:00 – 4:45pm Montessori Work Period
4:45 – 5:15pm Art Projects / Free Play
5:15 – 5:30pm Story Time / Clean Up
5:30 – 6:00pm Classroom / Gym / Pickup*
